The Dimensional Engineer at Rivian is responsible for ensuring that vehicle components and assemblies meet dimensional quality targets throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves leading dimensional control strategies to achieve fit, finish, and functional requirements across various assemblies. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to address dimensional issues and drive process standardization. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with fixture designs, checking aids, and datum strategies.
• Excellent knowledge of GD&T.
• Manufacturing or assembly experience in areas such as Automotive Stamping, Body in White assemblies, Drivetrain castings, or Battery modules.

• Willingness to work in a strong cross-functional and collaborative environment.

• Improve dimensional performance of vehicles throughout the product life cycle.
• Lead dimensional engineering PQ build objectives for fit and finish of the final vehicle.
• Support parts and system validation processes for all body geometry.
• Proactively lead variation reduction efforts for the body shop.
• Support interior and exterior dimensional validation using various tools.
• Lead cross-functional teams through root cause analysis of dimensional issues.
• Interface with suppliers to recommend and evaluate corrective actions.
• Drive process standardization through documentation of projects.
