Job description
The Systems Development Engineer II role at Amazon's Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce team focuses on developing innovative software solutions to enhance operational excellence and customer experience. The team is dedicated to achieving sustainability goals by optimizing the lifecycle of returned and damaged products. This position involves tackling complex challenges and designing secure, maintainable, and scalable systems. The engineer will work within an agile environment, contributing to various stages of the software development life cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems.
- 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to all aspects of an agile systems development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
- Develop tools, automation, and monitoring solutions.
- Define operational processes and improve operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues.
- Implement fixes for internally developed code.
- Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
