Job description
This role involves designing and building distributed services that manage entity data for AWS's global infrastructure. The team focuses on improving the reliability and performance of billing services that process millions of events daily. You will have the opportunity to work on modernizing legacy systems and enabling AWS to expand into new markets. The position requires ownership of the full lifecycle of features and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed services that store and synchronize entity data across AWS's global infrastructure.
- Develop and extend the rules engine that determines the correct Seller of Record for every AWS transaction.
- Own the full lifecycle of features including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational excellence.
- Improve the reliability and performance of Tier 1 billing-path services that process millions of events daily.
- Build tooling and automation that reduces developer effort for Commerce Platform market expansions.
- Collaborate with partner teams across Commerce Platform to evolve shared entity models and APIs.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and operational best practices.
