Job description

The Entry Level Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on providing innovative solutions to municipal clients' water challenges. As part of the West Central I&C Group, you will work on various projects from design to onsite startup. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a world-class team dedicated to water protection and to utilize the deepest technical resources in the industry. You will be involved in developing control system software and coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit software
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) with plans to take the Control Systems PE exam

Responsibilities

  • Design control panel layouts, BOM’s, and Nameplate Schedules.
  • Develop I/O wiring diagrams and AC and/or DC power distribution diagrams.
  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
  • Engage with instrumentation vendors to understand product capabilities.
  • Program PLC and SCADA Systems.
