Job description
The Service Engineer role within the Customer Reliability Engineering team at Microsoft focuses on building and managing end-to-end solutions that enhance operational excellence in the Azure Cloud. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, incident response, or problem management is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies such as large language models (LLMs) and AI-assisted coding is preferred.
- Proficiency in big data concepts and query writing using Kusto/KQL and data visualization tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to building intelligent agents, LLM-powered workflows, and AI-assisted coding tools that automate incident triage and operational intelligence.
- Build and maintain data integrations across incident management systems and Azure DevOps.
- Identify and automate manual processes while building monitoring and self-healing capabilities.
- Work with various teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Use metrics to assess operational effectiveness and the impact of reliability improvements.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities during cloud operations and engage during major incidents.
