Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will be part of the Evaluation Platform Team at Microsoft, focusing on enhancing the evaluation system for AI products. This role involves building reusable components and driving new capabilities to improve system performance and reduce launch times. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and ensure the tools are user-friendly and well-documented. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building systems to evaluate and drive quality in a product and using data to drive engineering decisions.
  • A passion for building reliable, scalable infrastructure and making users successful.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
  • Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability.
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partner with appropriate stakeholders to drive project plans and work items.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns to improve product performance.
