Job description

The Business Data Scientist role at Google focuses on driving data-driven decision-making within the Global Business Strategy and Operations team. This position involves analyzing complex business problems and providing strategic recommendations based on data insights. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that enhance business operations. The ideal candidate will manage the full data science lifecycle, from analysis to execution, ensuring that the Ads Business continues to thrive.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, or Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding in Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience in querying databases or conducting statistical analysis.
  • 4 years of experience in relevant fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analytics, data infrastructure, and measurement methodology of seller incentives.
  • Partner with Strategy and Operations and Finance stakeholders to translate business problems into data-driven strategies.
  • Own the full data science lifecycle, using causal inference and predictive modeling to build frameworks that solve business problems.
  • Manage ambiguous problems using SQL, R, and Python to find scalable solutions and build automated data pipelines.
  • Act as a data storyteller, translating findings into compelling narratives that influence executive leaders.
