Job description

The Sr Electrical Engineer will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing group at Jacobs, focusing on the engineering and design of data centers and mission-critical facilities. This role offers flexibility in location across the U.S. and emphasizes collaboration within a multi-discipline team. The engineer will contribute to projects that enhance clients' data center facilities through innovative design and technical expertise. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to quality and efficiency in engineering design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial facility design
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)

Responsibilities

  • Provide design work for data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications systems.
  • Contribute to team technical collaboration and perform quality reviews of design packages.
  • Assist directly with other portions of the design process and interact with clients, owners, and contractors.
  • Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
  • Work closely with the broader multi-discipline team to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
