Job description
Tesla's Energy Remanufacturing team seeks a motivated Equipment and Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for energy products. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance product development and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- 6+ years relevant experience in interdisciplinary/integrated engineering, process development, manufacturing engineering
- Experience with dispensing applications, welding, and electromechanical assembly is preferred
- Deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them towards manufacturing process development
- Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting and configuration, preferably in Siemens programming language
- 3+ years in a highly automated, high volume manufacturing facility
- Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Demonstrated capabilities in manufacturing process development for new products
Responsibilities
- Define process and equipment development roadmap for assembly processes
- Develop innovative process, product and equipment design solutions
- Plan and execute DoEs to optimize process for manufacturability and quality
- Manage PFMEA, DFMEA risk assessments for process improvement projects
- Use tools like Minitab/JMP for data analysis and presentation of experimental data
- Establish process controls for SPC and develop process related OCAPs
- Lead product design for manufacturability (DFM), DFMEA and sustainability
- Build process documentation to define the process for cross-functional teams
