Job description
The Process Engineer will focus on process sustaining and continuous improvement for Tesla's energy storage production line. This role involves applying lean manufacturing principles, troubleshooting test failures, and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experienced in programming, troubleshooting, and integrating PLC platforms with ladder logic and structured text
- Experience commissioning and optimizing equipment with a track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement
- 5+ years in an automated, high volume manufacturing facility
- Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
- Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong SQL skills and ability to create interactive dashboards using data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in manufacturing processes and understand process capabilities through critical data analysis
- Root Cause analysis of complex systems and mitigation of failure modes
- Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Lead continuous improvement activities to drive improvements to critical KPIs: safety, quality, output, and cost
- Lead NCM activities, including documentation and troubleshooting of line fallout
- Responsible for diagnosing issues found during the part manufacturing process and driving corrective action
- Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated processes
- Support 24 by 7 production operations
