Job description
Tesla Energy is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer in Sparks, NV to ensure the quality of battery and electronics production lines. The role involves collaborating with various teams to develop high-quality products that meet customer expectations while utilizing quality techniques to solve challenges and prevent defects.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
- ASQ or Six Sigma certification are preferred
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience
- Specific training and demonstrated success in applying design for quality and problem solving methodologies, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc.
- Strong background and demonstrated success applying statistical methods
- Minitab, JMP or other statistical software capabilities are preferred
- Data mining and database (e.g. MySQL) experience
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
Responsibilities
- Establish effective working relationships within Tesla
- Develop manufacturing requirements, quality standards and product quality plans
- Deploy manufacturing level requirements to subsystems, assemblies & components
- Identify critical requirements for supplier and production focus
- Lead development of FMEAs (Design & Process) for development teams
- Support development of manufacturing equipment, controls and test plans
- Assist development with statistical tolerancing, Monte Carlo analysis and other methods
- Support process capability analyses to investigate supplier and production processes
- Design effective experiments through DOE or other methods
- Manage and facilitate the root cause & corrective actions system
