Job description
The Reliability Engineer in the GigaFactory Facilities team is responsible for sustaining and supporting utility equipment while continuously improving processes in one of the most automated factories in the world. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for learning and will work collaboratively across various teams to ensure the factory's equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience as an equipment engineer, maintenance engineer, or reliability engineer of facilities process systems/equipment
- Working knowledge of TPM, RCM, FMEA and PdM programs
- Experience in predictive maintenance technologies preferred
- Experience managing or working with maintenance technicians
- Experience reviewing equipment specifications in design phase
- Structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, etc.)
- Able to work under intense time pressure in the presence of others
- Experience with commissioning and start-up of facilities process systems/equipment preferred
- CMRP OR CRE certifications preferred
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Facilities Maintenance, Design, Operations, Process Engineering and Controls and other cross-functional teams
- Develop/Improve reliability requirements for design phase that includes full life cycle feedback
- Develop/Improve Preventative Maintenance (PM) program using Criticality, FMEA, RCM tools
- Responsible for continuous process optimization based on Reliability requirements of the system/equipment
- Support metrics that track field reliability performance
- Perform data analysis to predict and curb failures before they occur
- Become owner/subject matter expert to drive equipment-related process improvement
- Build training material, maintenance routines, service bulletins, and related documentation
- Identify equipment critical spare parts and ensure sufficient coverage
- Provide hands-on support to maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve extended downtime situations
