The Process Engineer will focus on process sustaining and continuous improvement for Tesla's energy storage production line. This role involves applying lean manufacturing principles, troubleshooting test failures, and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance production efficiency and quality.

• Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Design for Manufacturability experience, Poke Yoke, and elimination of risk with design recommendations
• Background in Automated Systems (Electronics, Computer Controls, Electromechanical, Fastening, and/or IT Systems) is preferable
• Experience developing and improving Process with a track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness improvement activities
• Good understanding of Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Execution System, Specification Management, Change Point Management
• Strong problem solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and its application
• Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers

• Develop expertise in manufacturing processes and understand process capabilities through critical data analysis
• Participate in the transition of a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing
• Root Cause analysis of complex systems and mitigation of failure modes
• Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Lead continuous improvement activities to drive improvements to critical KPIs: safety, quality, output, and cost
• Lead NCM activities, including documentation and troubleshooting of line fallout
• Create troubleshooting guides and document procedures for offline failure analysis
• Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated processes
• Support 24 by 7 production operations
