Job description
Tesla is seeking a motivated individual to lead the Process Engineering team for the Optimus manufacturing group in Fremont, CA. The role involves building a capable team to enhance process yield and monitoring throughout the product lifecycle of Tesla's Optimus bot, from beta builds to launch and sustaining operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial, Equipment, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience in assembly, manufacturing, or maintenance environment
- At least 2 years in a people management role
- Proven first principles driven problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical capability and familiarity with analytical and statistical software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, innovative, and able to work independently
Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop a strong team through recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching
- Proactively plan for labor needs ahead of critical new manufacturing lines
- Standardize strategies and best practices to accelerate readiness for new products
- Oversee a team responsible for robust process control plans
- Manage line managers and technicians for operational activities
- Work cross-functionally to improve quality and cost
