Job description
As a Manufacturing Engineer for Power Modules at Tesla, you will develop innovative manufacturing processes and technologies to produce high-quality power modules. This role involves collaboration with design teams, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and optimizing processes to drive sustainable energy solutions.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in power electronics module assembly and manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing module packaging processes, including soldering, wire bonding, and encapsulation
- Experience with process development, optimization, and control, including statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
- Proven experience in automated manufacturing equipment, installation, qualification, and characterization
- Proficiency in CAD tools and six sigma principles
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Develop new manufacturing processes and technologies for power module packaging and assembly
- Collaborate with design to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) solutions
- Conduct research and analysis to identify and implement new manufacturing processes and materials
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to validate process assumptions and optimize process conditions
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to power module assembly
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process specifications and work instructions
