Job description

Tesla is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to oversee the manufacturing of large stationary battery products, ensuring safety, reliability, and quality standards. The role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction in energy storage solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Six Sigma or ASQ certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment and Quality Engineering function
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with electro-mechanical assemblies, battery modules manufacturing preferred
  • Quality Engineering expertise including ASQ certification preferred
  • Exceptional problem solving skills utilizing methodologies such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma and Shainin
  • Understanding of Quality Management standards as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the quality of incoming components and quality controls in production process
  • Solve complex technical challenges impacting internal and external customers
  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve product and components quality
  • Drive Design & Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify risks
  • Develop, validate, implement and improve effective quality controls across production lines
  • Assist development with dimensional analysis and statistical tolerancing
