Tesla is looking for an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer to optimize manufacturing operating systems at energy manufacturing sites. This role involves troubleshooting, deploying software solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of technology in high-pressure environments, with up to 50% travel required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in forward-deployed roles across full production lifecycles in manufacturing, renewable energy, or industrial production settings
• Experience with software tools and platforms like SQL, Python, C-Sharp, R, Tableau, and real-time data pipelines
• Strong software engineering skills, including version control with Git and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with automation scripting and integrating software with hardware systems
• Demonstrated ability to deploy and scale analytics solutions on-site
• Experience in cross-functional teams involving manufacturing engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and operations
• Fluency in Lean manufacturing methodology
• A coding portfolio of deployed, production projects in Python, TypeScript, or comparable languages
• Demonstrated track record influencing cross-functional plant floor stakeholders

• Embed at energy manufacturing sites to diagnose flow, quality, and reliability problems
• Utilize existing dashboards to triage and understand line health, OEE, and production KPIs
• Deploy and engage users to adopt systems for production forecasting and manufacturing analytics
• Study existing workflows and design new standard work or improvements
• Design and deploy AI/ML applications directly in production environments
• Collaborate with partner organizations to ensure organizational flow across sites and lines
• Implement long-term solutions that are scalable for next-generation energy manufacturing
• Act as the on-the-ground technical expert, translating deployment challenges into actionable solutions
