Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Printed Circuits Board (PCB) Material Science Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team. This role focuses on leading the research, development, and implementation of high-volume manufacturing of high layer count PCBs. The SME will provide expert guidance to engineering teams and suppliers, ensuring the development of new PCB technologies and materials. The position requires a strong background in material science, chemistry, and engineering to support NVIDIA's innovative product needs.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of experience in PCB design, fabrication, and materials.
  • Extensive expertise across PCB technologies, with a strong background in R&D of laminate materials and PCB interconnect structures.
  • Deep understanding of the PCB supplier base and raw material sourcing ecosystem.
  • Proven expertise in HDI, high-layer-count PCBs, and signal-integrity challenges for high-speed designs.
  • Strong leadership and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, development, and implementation of high-volume manufacturing of high layer count PCBs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with PCB manufacturers and laminate material suppliers.
  • Own the development of PCB technology and material roadmaps based on engineering requirements.
  • Provide PCB technology support to Engineering Teams, Signal Integrity, PCB Design, and Operations Engineering teams.
  • Define and optimize PCB stack-ups to maximize reliability while incorporating cost-avoidance strategies.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
