The GPU Performance Engineer for Neural Reconstruction at NVIDIA will focus on optimizing neural reconstruction workflows to enhance performance and scalability. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies in GPU computing, differentiable rendering, and machine learning. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure that performance improvements maintain quality and reliability. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with hardware and has a strong background in machine learning and 3D vision.
Requirements
- BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field with 12+ years of experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch or a similar tensor/autograd framework.
- Experience optimizing GPU-accelerated workloads using CUDA, C++/CUDA extensions, or related GPU programming approaches.
- Practical experience with profiling and performance analysis, including root-causing CPU/GPU bottlenecks.
Responsibilities
- Profile end-to-end neural reconstruction workflows and identify bottlenecks across various stages.
- Improve CUDA and PyTorch performance for Gaussian Splatting and neural reconstruction workloads.
- Analyze GPU performance using tools such as Nsight Systems and PyTorch Profiler.
- Optimize sparse and irregular rendering workloads, including multi-GPU execution.
- Translate high-impact Python or PyTorch bottlenecks into efficient CUDA/C++ implementations.
