Job description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be part of a global engineering team focused on the continuous improvement of data center liquid cooling infrastructure products. This role involves collaboration with diverse teams across AWS to ensure high standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. Candidates should have hands-on experience in mechanical and manufacturing aspects of liquid cooling products. The position requires strong engineering judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects across various geographic locations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Responsibilities
- Possess strong engineering judgment and provide recommendations despite uncertainty
- Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
- Work with global liquid cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers
- Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders
- Support operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support
- Listen to the voice of the customer to identify improvements for product reliability or availability
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements and oversee root cause analysis
- Contribute to the global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale
