As a Controls Colo Engineer at AWS, you will work closely with internal teams and colocation vendors to identify and resolve operational deficiencies that affect site capability and availability. You will provide full life-cycle support to Data Centers, ensuring adherence to design standards and improving system efficiency. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to maintain the highest safety and security standards. You will also engage in troubleshooting and conducting audits to enhance operational performance.
Requirements
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License is preferred
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Responsibilities
- Work with the control team to develop and implement standards for colocation data centers.
- Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new colocation data centers.
- Identify risks within Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems.
- Review automation controls drawings and provide feedback on controls logic programming.
- Support design upgrades for existing colocation data center control systems.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and create documentation for site/equipment failures.
- Conduct site audits and produce reports outlining risks and recommended mitigations.
- Support construction and commissioning for new projects.
- Lead internal training sessions on colocation controls.
- Review and improve controls-related processes and documentation.
