This role involves influencing the mechanical design, construction, operations, and maintenance of AWS's global data centers. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. The position requires collaboration with internal and external teams to define and document mechanical features essential for data center operations. You will also contribute to the continual improvement of mechanical design standards.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Drive improvement of design standards and project approaches across the organization.
• Work with internal and external design teams to review designs in progress for compliance with standards and codes.
• Provide high quality mechanical engineering advice on a variety of global projects.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams to address requests for information.
• Prepare construction documents, ensure code compliance, and evaluate water supply for fire service.
• Oversee project-related work such as water supply analysis and design for fire water service.
