We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the AWS CloudFormation team, which focuses on developing innovative cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in solving complex challenges and mentoring other engineers. This role involves working on industry-defining projects that impact millions of customers. You will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation and operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end software development process including requirements gathering and design reviews
- Solve difficult problems using appropriate technologies and best practices
- Work with the team to invent, design, and build stable and performant software
- Write code that is understandable by other engineers unfamiliar with the system
- Create flexible software while minimizing over-engineering and complexity
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support system operations
