Job description
This role is part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The team is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of Apple Silicon by identifying and debugging issues through a comprehensive software suite. Candidates will work collaboratively with designers and architects to meet validation goals while engaging with various teams to develop effective validation strategies. This position is open to all experience levels, from junior to senior roles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field with 0 years of experience.
- Knowledge of SoC and CPU architecture.
- Understanding of micro-architecture and memory hierarchy.
- Familiarity with interrupt and DMA concepts.
- Experience with SoC bringup.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly language programming.
- Expertise in embedded programming and hardware-software interfaces.
- Knowledge of hardware and software debug tools and methods.
Responsibilities
- Write SoC and CPU directed and random tests.
- Debug issues pre-silicon or post-silicon.
- Develop and maintain the system-level software platform.
- Lead software development and execution plans for SoC projects.
- Collaborate with designers and architects to achieve validation goals.
- Engage with other teams at Apple to develop validation strategies based on product needs.
