Worldwide Grocery Store Tech is looking for a Data Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team. The role focuses on architecting data infrastructures and developing advanced data pipelines to enhance data-driven decision making. The DASH Team, which this position is part of, aims to deliver analytics using AI and serves as a central hub for data infrastructure. The team emphasizes building robust platforms and ensuring long-term infrastructure stability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases or data stores such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases

Responsibilities

  • Help build the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision making using software engineering best practices.
  • Manage and optimize the usage of cloud computing resources, particularly on AWS.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers to establish best practices for data reporting and analysis.
  • Work with Data Scientists to implement advanced analytics algorithms for statistical analysis and machine learning.
  • Drive architecture and technology decisions to enable a world-class user experience.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Amazon's various data sources for appropriate data resource allocation.
  • Encourage the organization to adopt next-generation data architecture strategies.
  • Thrive in an ambiguous environment by quickly building proof of concepts and improving data-driven solutions.
  • Create extensible designs and maintainable solutions with a long-term vision.
  • Align work with business objectives to deliver business value.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
