The Software Development Engineer in Manufacturing Infrastructure at Google will be part of a team that develops custom silicon solutions for Google's products. This role focuses on creating software tools that support manufacturing test processes, utilizing Python and Golang. The team is responsible for building applications that are deployed on factory floors globally, contributing to the efficiency and performance of Google's manufacturing operations. The engineer will also engage with contract manufacturers to integrate solutions into their networks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with software system design, architecture, and creating technical design documentation in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
- Experience in setting up manufacturing assembly processes and managing product launches.
Responsibilities
- Develop software applications and test automation frameworks for a manufacturing environment.
- Interact with internal users to gather business requirements and review software specifications.
- Lead cross-functional design projects that may require interactions outside the company.
- Mentor junior team members.
