Job description

This role focuses on influencing acoustics and sound mitigation for the design and operation of AWS global data centers. You will work with diverse teams to ensure compliance with local ordinances and improve acoustic design standards. The position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality acoustic engineering advice. You will be part of a team dedicated to creating innovative solutions for data center construction on a global scale.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Experience in commissioning and carrying design concepts through to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvement of acoustic design standards and project approaches across the organization.
  • Review concept designs and designs in progress to ensure compliance with established acoustic design standards.
  • Provide high quality acoustic engineering advice on a variety of global projects.
  • Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams to address requests for information.
  • Prepare construction documents, ensure code compliance, and meet with authorities to secure approval of acoustical features.
  • Conduct sound modeling of projects and design mitigation strategies.
