Job description

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Professional to join their Resilience Environment team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves both field and office work, with a significant emphasis on field activities, including environmental site characterization and remediation tasks. The candidate will assist Project Managers and Task Managers while focusing on health and safety during fieldwork. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field
  • Experience with NCDEQ environmental regulations and SOPs is preferred
  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training is preferred
  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience is preferred
  • 1 year of experience in the field is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling in accordance with NCDEQ Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Prepare health and safety plans and conduct regulatory file reviews.
