Job description
Arcadis is seeking an Office Engineer to join their Water Division as part of the construction management team in the NYC Metropolitan Area. This role focuses on developing technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure and general building projects. The Office Engineer will support day-to-day construction oversight activities and assist in managing programs under the supervision of the Assistant Project Manager. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading municipal consulting firm and contribute to impactful projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Two years of experience is preferred but not required for strong self-motivated candidates
- Proficiency with web-based construction document control programs such as Trimble Unity Construct (eBuilder)
- Professional licensure such as an EIT is preferred
- Experience with NYCDOB permitting and NYCHA is a plus
Responsibilities
- Function as a submittal coordinator and liaison between design staff and contractors for the review and processing of shop drawings.
- Monitor and report on construction progress and contractor compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Interact with other consultants to schedule on-site special inspections and asbestos abatement monitoring services.
- Review and process various construction permits for regulatory compliance.
- Handle construction change order management, including quantity take-off, cost estimating, and negotiations.
