Job description
The Software Engineer role focuses on building tools and systems to enhance M365 sovereign cloud operations, making them faster, smarter, and more reliable. The position is part of the M365 Sovereign Clouds organization, which ensures that government cloud customers have access to world-class productivity tools with high security and compliance standards. The candidate will work on various operational challenges, including internal platforms and automation, while contributing to the security and compliance of sensitive communications. This role emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Candidates must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement code for products, services, or features with minimal supervision.
- Act as a designated responsible individual (DRI) to monitor system/product features for degradation and respond to issues within service level agreement (SLA) timeframes.
- Maintain operations of live site services, responding quickly to mitigate issues while following security best practices.
- Contribute to identifying dependencies and incorporate them into the development of design documents.
- Identify requirements for automation within production and deployment of complex product features.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for features.
- Stay current in skills and conduct learning sessions on relevant engineering design principles.
