Job description

The Strategic Supply Chain Management Engineering Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving DRAM technology strategy and supplier engagements within Apple's Hardware Engineering organization. This position requires a deep understanding of the memory and semiconductor industry, focusing on technology selection, roadmap alignment, and risk mitigation. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams to ensure the successful ramp-up of high-volume memory devices. Additionally, the manager will synthesize complex data into clear narratives for senior leadership and travel internationally to supplier sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or memory technology development.
  • Proven experience in NPI program management with direct technical engagement with memory or semiconductor suppliers.
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of the DRAM/memory industry, including technology roadmaps and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of DRAM architecture, device physics, and packaging technologies.
  • Experience with memory qualification methodologies and failure analysis.
  • Strong supplier engagement experience and capacity planning skills.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to synthesize complex engineering and supply chain data for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own DRAM technology strategy from technology selection through long-term roadmap alignment.
  • Drive decisions on technology adoption, build priorities, and risk mitigation.
  • Provide engineering-informed inputs to NPI supply cost models in partnership with Global Supply Management.
  • Optimize supplier engineering performance by monitoring key metrics such as yield and reliability.
  • Rapidly synthesize complex engineering and supply data into clear narratives for senior leadership.
  • Proactively identify risks that could impact product strategy.
  • Engage with international supplier engineering teams to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Manage high volume silicon manufacturing processes across the full NPI lifecycle.
  • Track details across complex engineering qualification and capacity trackers.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
