Job description

The role involves working at Intel's Foundry labs, focusing on characterizing semiconductor nano-devices using advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The position supports engineering activities such as fabrication, failure analysis, and technology development. Engineers will be tasked with optimizing metrology strategies and troubleshooting process flow issues. This position is critical as it contributes to the advancement of Intel's technology development and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in a Technical Area such as Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related field of study.
  • Hands-on experience with Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) operation.
  • Experience with Python scripting or MATLAB or other programming languages is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with TEM sample imaging with automation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical functions in support of engineering activities such as fabrication, failure analysis, technology development, process development, and process integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize metrology strategies and troubleshoot process flow issues.
  • Conduct engineering tasks and detailed technical procedures to perform sample preparation or imaging using advanced focused-ion-beam and/or transmission electron microscope tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in high volume manufacturing environments.
  • Continuously upgrade skill set and maintain an open attitude to learn from others.
