Job description

The CPU Memory Design Engineer will join the CPU Circuit Technology team at Intel, focusing on designing and developing various memory technologies for CPUs and SOCs. This role involves collaboration with domain experts to innovate high-performance, low-power embedded memory designs. The engineer will work in a dynamic environment, engaging in a wide range of circuit activities to optimize power, performance, and area. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology in the computing industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a STEM-related field with 6+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience; or PhD with 2+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in CMOS circuit design, digital logic optimizations, and circuit trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
  • Expertise in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) circuits and design methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop full-custom and compiler-based SRAMs, Large Signal Arrays, ROMs, and custom memories.
  • Conduct technical readiness, memory circuit design, characterization, and simulations.
  • Perform cache design, critical path simulations, and design custom blocks to meet stringent Power/Performance/Area constraints.
  • Engage in memory path-finding activities and optimize power, performance, and area.
  • Design memory bit-cells and complex periphery ICs, along with automation.
  • Define methodologies and execute project schedules.
