Job description

The Network Development Engineer role within Amazon's Corporate Network Engineering team focuses on delivering innovative network solutions to support the company's growth. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and security experts to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks. The team is responsible for designing, planning, and maintaining the corporate office network infrastructure, which connects numerous remote offices to the enterprise core network and AWS cloud. The role emphasizes operational excellence, customer interaction, and the development of automation tools to enhance network performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on technical engineering experience in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments
  • 4+ years of experience and knowledge of at least one vendor’s Wireless hardware including Access Points and Wireless Controllers
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Knowledge of wireless security protocols such as .1x, RADIUS, WPA2, and EAP-TLS
  • Knowledge of RF Planning and Optimization

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality network and systems operations, deployments, and scaling.
  • Design and build innovative, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions.
  • Drive scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams for ongoing design efforts.
  • Assist internal customers in resolving network-related issues.
  • Drive operational excellence projects to improve network quality and reliability.
  • Create simple processes to operate and build the network.
