Job description
KLA's Surfscan Group is seeking a forward-thinking system development engineer to contribute to advanced chip design. The team focuses on various technologies and subsystems related to wafer handling, precision motion control, and image processing. Engineers will collaborate with global teams and engage in innovative product development. This role emphasizes both technical expertise and project management skills.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree with 3 years of related work experience, or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience.
- Strong background in system development and engineering principles.
- Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as 8D or 7-Step.
- Project management skills including scoping, budgeting, and scheduling are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate concepts and designs for next-generation systems.
- Lead design efforts and conduct experiments to verify performance of components.
- Perform research and proposals for new product features based on customer requirements.
- Setup and drive team efforts to address product-level issues.
- Lead development of performance diagnostics for existing and new products.
- Define system-level requirements and contribute to specifications.
- Develop and execute test plans for system characterization and validation.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues across various domains.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, applications, and service teams to implement solutions.
- Present technical findings to leadership and global stakeholders.
