KLA's ADE Sustaining Engineering team is seeking a P3-level Product / Systems Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This hands-on role focuses on lab testing, root-cause analysis, and system-level troubleshooting across various technical areas. The engineer will work on complex subsystems and full tool configurations, addressing performance, reliability, and quality issues. Collaboration with design, manufacturing, service, and suppliers is essential to drive corrective actions and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience working in a hands-on lab environment supporting complex hardware systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and root-cause issues on physical systems.
- Working knowledge in optical systems, precision vibration measurement, semiconductor manufacturing, and precision motion control systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on lab and system-level testing of semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to optical systems, vibration sensitivity, precision motion control, and electronics.
- Design, execute, and document validation, characterization, and reliability tests at various levels.
- Lead root-cause investigations using data analysis and experimentation.
- Support sustaining engineering activities for released products, including performance and reliability issues.
- Analyze field data and sensor logs to identify trends and failure mechanisms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement fixes and improvements.
- Create clear technical documentation and test reports for design reviews and production release.
