Job description

As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead and manage complex cross-functional projects focused on developing and delivering advanced sortation and distribution solutions. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project execution while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The role involves significant travel and requires you to work from a corporate office when not on-site. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation in material handling systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
  • 4+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL
  • Master's degree in engineering, management, or technology is preferred
  • Experience managing third-party vendors
  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects and deliver on project objectives and targets.
  • Participate in engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions on system architecture and facility processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to set project priorities and drive schedules.
  • Lead execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs according to established standards.
  • Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
  • Articulate system and equipment designs to internal customers and partner teams.
  • Manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validations.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiencies.
