Job description
The Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) role on the MSK team involves designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems that support the MSK Control Plane. This position requires close collaboration with the infrastructure layer to develop software that manages compute resources across various environments. The SDE-2 will take ownership of significant features, influence technical design decisions, and enhance engineering excellence within the team. Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK) is a rapidly growing service that provides real-time data infrastructure for diverse organizations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to deliver new features in performance, cost, and reliability.
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure the quality of all team deliverables.
- Build and implement high-quality distributed system software.
- Work in an agile development environment prioritizing the most important and impactful projects.
