Job description
As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead and manage complex cross-functional projects focused on developing and delivering advanced sortation and distribution solutions. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project execution and effective communication. The role requires significant travel and the ability to work from a corporate office when not on-site. You will be part of a diverse team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation in material handling systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 4+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE)
- Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects and deliver on project objectives and targets.
- Participate in engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions on systems architecture and facility processes.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to set project priorities and drive schedules.
- Lead execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs per established standards.
- Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
