Job description

The Media, Graphics & Compute Technologies (MGC) team at Apple is seeking a software quality engineer to enhance the quality of real-time communication technologies. This role involves developing performance tests and automated testing for various media features across Apple platforms. The engineer will work closely with development teams to ensure high-quality standards are met. Collaboration and effective communication will be essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science
  • Proficiency in one or more computing languages like Python, Java, or C/C++
  • 2-5 years of industry experience, particularly in driving testing of large complex projects
  • Experience testing Video/Audio codecs or Video/Audio evaluation systems
  • Experience with networking protocols such as RTP and RTCP
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like MongoDB and Tableau
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and containerization

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct performance tests for media features on Apple platforms
  • Build automated testing to qualify audio and video quality in complex scenarios
  • Create and track high-quality bug reports and triage issues with developers
  • Establish relationships across multi-functional teams to enhance testing strategies
  • Implement manual testing with the goal of automating that testing
  • Drive fixes for critical performance tests run by multi-functional technology teams
