Job description
This role involves shaping the future of large language model (LLM) efforts at Apple by transforming models into intelligent assistants for billions of products. The team consists of researchers and engineers focused on bridging deep learning capabilities with user-centric utility. The position emphasizes tackling core training challenges and designing models that enhance user experiences across the Apple ecosystem. Collaboration with a team of experts will be essential to explore novel training strategies and advanced evaluation methodologies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with a focus on LLMs, post-training, or reinforcement learning.
- Proficient programming skills in Python and a major deep learning framework such as JAX or PyTorch.
- Masters/PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- Experience training state-of-the-art large models at scale, with familiarity in distributed training challenges and trade-offs.
- Experience improving model performance on complex reasoning tasks such as math, coding, and logic.
- Experience with various transformer architectures and their transformations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working cross-functionally across Research and Product teams.
