Job description

The Data Engineer role within the OIS/CXI Analytics team focuses on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ML-ready data infrastructure to support Amazon's Operations Technology ecosystem. This position plays a crucial role in delivering AI-driven operational insights and data science initiatives across Amazon's global fulfillment networks. The individual will collaborate with various teams to implement best practices in data engineering and contribute to the development of GenAI solutions for analytics. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with opportunities for technical growth and organizational influence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in PySpark or Apache Spark
  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related fields
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for data and ML systems
  • Experience with non-relational databases and data stores

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and big data infrastructure
  • Build feature engineering workflows and ML-ready data pipelines for Data Science experimentation
  • Contribute to data governance and quality standards across analytical and ML data products
  • Support the implementation of GenAI solutions for automated reporting and analytics
  • Build and maintain semantic layers and dashboard data models for business decisions
  • Partner with various teams to prioritize work aligned with business goals
  • Follow and contribute to best practices for data engineering including code reviews and documentation
