Job description

The Electrical Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on designing large-scale electric power systems, including power generation plants and substations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering with a preference for Power Systems emphasis.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design, consulting, or operations in the energy field.
  • Proven experience in complex energy projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong proficiency in power system analysis software and design tools.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power studies and develop designs for large-scale behind-the-meter power generation projects.
  • Manage and approve the execution of power system studies and engineering design.
  • Specify project performance and design requirements for substations and utility distribution networks.
  • Execute and lead power system studies using relevant modeling software.
  • Conduct utility master planning and decarbonization planning.
  • Develop long-term utility infrastructure plans and conduct resiliency studies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical training within the team.
  • Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
