Job description

This role is part of the Silicon Technologies group at Apple, focusing on designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The team is responsible for ensuring that Apple products can efficiently handle complex tasks, ultimately enhancing user experience. The position involves both pre-silicon and post-silicon testing to identify and debug issues, contributing to the high quality of Apple Silicon. Candidates will work collaboratively with designers and architects to meet validation goals and develop effective validation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field with 0 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of SoC and CPU architecture.
  • Understanding of micro-architecture and memory hierarchy.
  • Familiarity with interrupt and DMA, clock, and power gating.
  • Experience with SoC bringup.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly language programming.
  • Expertise in embedded programming with knowledge of hardware-software interfaces.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software debug tools and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Write SoC and CPU directed and random tests.
  • Debug issues pre-silicon or post-silicon.
  • Develop and maintain the system-level software platform.
  • Lead software development and execution plans for SoC projects.
  • Collaborate with designers and architects to achieve validation goals.
  • Engage with other teams at Apple to develop validation strategies based on product needs.
