Job description

This role is part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on the design and manufacturing of next-generation, high-performance processors and system-on-chip (SoC). The position involves physical verification of SoCs, ensuring that Apple products can efficiently handle tasks that enhance user experience. The team collaborates closely with various engineering teams throughout the chip design cycle. This highly visible role requires attention to detail and a commitment to crafting technology that powers Apple devices.

Requirements

  • BS degree with 0 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with physical verification flows such as DRC, LVS, and layout integration methodology.
  • Understanding of RTL to GDS physical design flow.
  • Scripting skills to debug flow-related issues and make enhancements.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools for physical verification such as Mentor Calibre and Synopsys ICV.
  • Layout design background and experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various types of physical verification checks such as LVS, DRC, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-yield.
  • Collaborate with the CAD/Technology teams for flow bring up and validation.
  • Work directly with the implementation team during the entire chip design cycle to drive signoff closure for tapeout.
  • Lead schedules and support cross-functional engineering efforts.
  • Work on padring, bump, RDL design, and collaborate with the package and floorplan teams.
