Job description

The Software Development Engineer will join Amazon CloudFront's Video Delivery team in Seattle, WA, focusing on building scalable systems for video content delivery. This role involves working on innovative solutions that enhance the quality of experience for live and on-demand streaming. The team is responsible for developing reliable, low-latency systems that serve a global customer base. Collaboration with various AWS teams and mentorship of fellow engineers are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate distributed systems that deliver video on a global scale.
  • Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for video delivery infrastructure.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and operations.
  • Explore and apply AI/ML-driven approaches to optimize video delivery and quality of experience.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development for fast prototyping, design, and coding.
