Job description

This role involves working with senior engineers to design and implement systems for Amazon Aurora Serverless, an innovative database service. The team focuses on creating a highly available, scalable, and reliable platform that orchestrates thousands of databases. Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and development of significant system software components for database services
  • Architect, design, and implement highly scalable distributed database systems
  • Build components that ensure availability, reliability, and performance guarantees
  • Mentor other engineers and promote effective communication and leadership
  • Contribute to the overall product direction and technology of the service
