Job description

The Senior Reliability Engineer will be part of the Trainium Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability (MQR) Team at AWS Annapurna Labs, focusing on machine learning products and AI platforms. This role involves collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to design and validate infrastructure technologies. The engineer will drive manufacturing process improvements and ensure product reliability through rigorous testing and risk assessment. The position requires a strong understanding of reliability statistics and computer systems to influence design decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of maintenance or engineering experience
  • 7+ years of reliability engineering work experience with server compute platforms or high-tech hardware
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up
  • Reliability modeling and materials characterization experience
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Reliability Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to uncover systemic issues prior to new product introduction
  • Working understanding of server subcomponents such as CPU, GPU, memory, HDD, SSD, motherboard, and thermal systems
  • Analytical, test plan and test procedure development experience related to server compute platforms or high-tech hardware

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the test validation of future technologies
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements to address reliability issues and concerns
  • Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms, products under development, and products in the field
  • Work with multiple vendors and ODMs to standardize component manufacturing and reliability expectations
  • Lead identifying and validating product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them
  • Define the test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers
  • Deep-dive in technologies aligned with the product roadmap
