The Amazon Data Firehose team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build a fully managed service for capturing, transforming, and delivering streaming data. This role involves working on all aspects of the Firehose service, including design, development, and operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing large-scale systems and a strong understanding of streaming data technologies. Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other engineers to build a large scale AWS service
- Work with senior leaders to define the team's roadmap
- Identify design and code changes needed in the underlying open source platforms
- Learn the ins and outs of building a highly available, scalable, distributed and secure system
