Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, a significant infrastructure initiative in the United States. This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to enhance mobility and ensure the reliability of the Northeast Corridor. The project includes the construction of a new rail tunnel and the rehabilitation of an existing tunnel, impacting over 200,000 daily passengers. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management with relevant coursework and experience in heavy civil and structural work.
• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of related experience in construction contract administration, preferably in the northern New Jersey/NYC area.
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain PE registration in the State of New Jersey is preferred.

• Oversee daily construction activities and Resident Engineering Inspection responsibilities.
• Conduct technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project changes to ensure constructability and practicality.
• Ensure staff safety, regulatory compliance, permit adherence, and effective coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall effectiveness.
• Influence contractors to meet project objectives related to cost, schedule, and quality standards.
• Administer the contractor payment process and recommend appropriate adjustments based on completed work.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to guide project progress and facilitate meetings with stakeholders.
